NYK-Logistics: War Risk & Piracy Security Surcharge

Following the increase in the additional insurance premium for vessels transiting the Gulf of Aden, which comes on top of the cost of the extra fuel that vessels are consuming while required to travel at full speed through the expanded piracy zone, it is imperative that NYK implements the War Risk and Piracy Security Surcharge in order to continue providing a high level of service.

From 15th April 2011, this surcharge will be USD 2.00 per cubic meter, for all destinations provided by our Middle East (EME) and South East Asia (ESEA) services with the exception of Aqaba and Jeddah.

The charge will be applicable for all cargo from this date.
