In consultation with our managers in Japan we think it is currently unsafe for any of us to be working in the Tokyo / Yokohama regions.
Hence all work in Kanto/Yokohama area is suspended until situation becomes clearer.
Reasons for this decision ar:
- Continuing of aftershocks,
- Power being cut on various days in various areas hence trains could be stopped and we could be blocked there
- Radiation at Fukushima is now 1600 times the normal at 20 kilometers away from plant, winds blowing towards inland Japan and Tokyo today. All workers have stopped working from this morning in terms of stabilizing the reactors due to smoke and steam release from reactors 2 and 3.
- Department of foreign affairs and Trade advice today the 22nd March is: "do not travel to Tokyo, surrounding areas and Honshu north of Tokyo"
All docks in Yokohama are currently working, hence all booked units on vessel should be able to meet vessels.
